Do you want to find out if you have what it takes to train like a pro?  High Performance  camps mix high intensity drills with physical training stations to give players the edge in competition.  Players will be challenged to attack, defend and dig deep to get the most out of their tennis.

The camp is intended for players who are preparing for competition and understand the fundamentals of rallying and the strategy of building points in a match.  Training will focus on helping players utilize the skills they already possess and not on technique.

In addition to on-the-court training, players will be tested physically to help improve their speed, agility and endurance.

Rapid Rally Results

Tennis is often times referred to as a marathon, but we wanted to see what tennis looks like in an-all-out sprint!

On January 5th and 6th, GS Academy and Tecnifibre teamed up to host more than 20 players to see the fastest of the fast.  In round-robin fashion, our singles players were given 15-minutes a match to score as many points at possible.  Our doubles players were given 25-minutes.  The top two players/teams played in one final match to determine the champion.

Carrie and Judy finish 1st and 2nd

The results are in and I reassure you this is no typo. Carrie Zhu was declared ultimate Champion with 111 points with runner-up Judy Kam scoring 72.  In the finals, Carrie proved her score was no fluke by defeating Judy head-to-head to close out the fast rabbit year.

Judy and Emily fall to Ann and Hannah in the finals

Team Locher featuring mother Ann and daughter Hannah scored 82 points in the round-robin portion of the tournament with the runner up team Judy Kam and Emily Qian close behind them with 81 points.  In the finals, mother and daughter showed their tennis bond by securing the fastest doubles team this side of the Yangtze river!

Getting ready for the minitennis tournament in March!

Our tournament wouldn’t have been complete without including the kids in a free promotional tennis workshop filled with fun-filled games to keep both parents and kiddies happy.

Special thanks to Tecnifibre for sponsoring our fun filled tennis experiment.  We look forward to cooking up something new for everybody soon.  Stay tuned to our tournament page.
