“I was attending boarding school in America when my parents decided to move to Beijing from Hong Kong. Tennis had been my favorite sport, and I had intended to continue regardless of where I lived. But to be honest, two less than favorable encounters with local Chinese coaches had left me skeptical of GS Academy. I doubted that there would be a tennis program that matched those in the states or Hong Kong. As with all things, it was my mom who pushed me to give it a try. However, GS Academy has become integral to my time in Beijing since then.
The coaches at GS Academy are all capable of coaching players at any level, and they have certainly helped me improve the technique of my game. The coaches also tackle aspects of tennis that other coaches may deem less important, such as the fitness and the mental strength the game demands. Equally important is the coaches’ enthusiasm towards tennis. When playing with them, I could truly feel that they loved what they were doing – what else would prompt them to be in China when they can’t speak a lick of Chinese? As cliché as it must sound, GS Academy is more than just tennis. I have a great time every single I step on the court, and I’ve met all my best friends in Beijing through their tennis programs. If it weren’t for GS, I honestly can’t imagine doing anything else in Beijing other than taking advantage of the cheap DVDs.
So whether for the sake of your tennis game or your social life, I’d recommend giving GS a try. I only did so because of my mom, but moms surely do know best.”
“Well, it was really the one-on-one attention I got from all the coaches, especially Rob, that helped me the most. They were very patient when I asked them questions, and then helped me put these new concepts and ideas into use during group lessons and match play. They’re amazing and friendly, and atmosphere is great. I stay in touch with the friends I made there!”
“The program is unique as it has a very holistic approach of tennis training including the physical, technical and spiritual aspects. We are very pleased with the professionalism and diversity of the program, which has helped Philip to learn about the many aspects of becoming a better tennis player. Thanks to this excellent training Philip was able to obtain a scholarship for college tennis in the USA in a good Division I tennis team.”

“My son has joined GS Academy for about 2 years. During these times, he has taken private and group lessons and worked with different coaches at the Academy. Overall, we found the coaches at GS are very committed in their profession and they would place the young players at their appropriate level for the advancement in tennis. It’s nothing more important than having the kids to continue to enjoy playing tennis and I think GS Academy has achieved more than this.”
